Depository Services
The Depository was established in 1995 and is now operated under Depository License No.177-03198-000100 issued on December 04, 2000 by the Federal Commission for Securities Market. Since 1997, Absolut Bank has been a member of NAUFOR, a self-governing Russian stock market association.
Absolut Bank Depository offers its customers a full range of depository services sought for in the modern securities market:
- Safe-keeping of documentary securities
- Registration and deregistration of non-documentary securities
- Re-registration of securities in shareholder registers and superior depositories
- Securities-backed financing and REPO transactions with securities
- Collateral transactions and registration of other encumbrances
- Redemption of securities and/or coupons (under an additional agreement with the customer)
- Receipt, verification and remittance of securities income
- Opening accounts on behalf of the customer with registrars and other depositories (under an additional agreement with the customer)
- Advice on securities registration and safe-keeping, re-registration of title and encumbrances, etc.
- Information and related services for corporate issuers
- Consulting services for owners to exercise their rights in securities
Absolut Bank Depository provides remote on-line access to ZAO NDC and ZAO DCC, major stock depositories of MICEX and Russian Trading System, which enables settlements on the same day when the customers apply for re-registration of their securities.
The Depository uses S.W.I.F.T. and Telex to make transactions with bonds denominated in US dollars.
Electronic document work flow involves cryptographic protection tools, encryption keys and digital signatures.
The Depository has correspondent accounts with over 50 depositories and registrars.
Nominee and trustee accounts are opened with such major Russian depositories as ZAO NDC, ZAO DCC, Vnesheconombank, Gazprombank, and 25 Moscow and regional registrars.
The Bank's Depository reconciles the securities balance on custody accounts with superior depositories on a daily basis. Reconciliation of the securities balance on custody accounts with the registrars is made at least once every three months.
As of January 01, 2009 the Depository of Absolut Bank was servicing over 300 issues of issue-grade and non-issue-grade securities. The securities serviced by the Bank's Depository include stocks of the Russian enterprises, state and corporate bonds, promissory notes and investment trust units.
The depository vault is equipped in accordance with the requirements of supervising and licensing authorities and the applicable law. Securities kept in the vault are reviewed quarterly to prevent their shortage or excess.
