IFC became the shareholder of Absolut Bank
Absolut Bank has completed the placement of additional shares issue. All issue was taken up by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is a member of the World Bank Group, for the total amount of RUR 253,7 million, comprised 7,5% of the Bank’s capital. As the result Absolut Bank has become the second financial institution in Russia, having IFC as a shareholder.
The transaction was carried out within the framework of the Package Agreement for cooperation, signed by IFC and Absolut Bank in July this year. Apart from participation in bank’s capital, IFC will also provide Absolut Bank with a credit loan facility to refinance Absolut Bank’s mortgage program for the amount of U.S. $15 million for the period of 8 years.
Following the results of this transaction Absolut Bank’s total capital has reached RUR 2 900 million according to RAS. Within the Mortgage Program the Bank has given over 1300 loans for the total amount of more than U.S. $65 million.
